Laser power, wobble, wire mode and head temperature sit on one screen at eye level. Below it, the illuminated cross shows the unit's state from across the bay.
The illuminated crosses on the front change colour with the operating mode, so anyone walking up can tell at a glance whether the laser is ready, firing or faulted.
No water loop, no chiller tank. Refrigerant runs straight to a copper cold plate under the fiber laser source and boils the heat away where it is made, which gives the system a fast thermal response. Two independent circuits share that plate, each with its own compressor and its own condenser behind a side vent.
If one circuit loses efficiency, the other carries the load. The laser source stays inside its safe operating window.
Try it: drop circuit A to 40% efficiency and watch circuit B pick up the load.
| Feature | Air | Water | Dual-circuit refrigerant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooling method | Air convection | Liquid circulation | Direct refrigerant heat transfer |
| Temperature range | 25–30 °C | 5–50 °C | −30 °C to 60 °C (constant) |
| Temperature control | Passive | Semi-stable | Intelligent and precise |
| Energy efficiency | Average | Moderate | Up to 50% higher |
| Maintenance | Low | High (coolant change) | None (sealed loop) |
| Welding stability | Limited | Moderate | Superior: <1% power fluctuation |
| Suitable for | Light tasks | General industry | High-precision, long-duty welding |
The cooling is sized for round-the-clock work, not a duty cycle. A winter night shift on an open yard or an afternoon beside a furnace: the laser source holds its temperature either way.
The welding head rides in a holster on the unit, with its cable stored on the wrap. Pick it up, pull the trigger, and the wire bracket feeds filler right at the nozzle.
All the connections sit low on the front panel, recessed between the side shells so they're out of harm's way. Wire feeder, shield gas in and the work clamp, with its earth stud, stack down the left. The RCI, RFI and HWI interfaces, LAN, USB and AC 220 V power in run along the bottom, each under its own printed label. The bottom-row sockets seal with caps on lanyards and the wire feeder has a flip cap, so nothing gets lost and setup on a new site takes minutes.
The lid carries a true-scale Milwaukee Packout plate with three bays. Full-size Packout gear takes two bays, so the drawer cabinet or the wire feeder locks onto the front two or the rear two. The plate runs the full length of the top, finished in the shell's white with rounded side edges.
A Packout 3-drawer tool box locks onto the front or rear two bays and comes off with its side latches. Keep nozzles, protective lenses and filler wire in the drawers, then carry the box to the work and leave the welder parked.
The wire feeder is the welder's box cut down to half the height. It keeps the carry handles and its own touchscreen for wire speed and feed mode, and a Packout mount on the bottom clicks it onto the drawer box. Welder, drawers and feeder lock into one stack. When the job needs it, lift the feeder off by its handles.
The welder rides a 4-bay Packout cart on braked swivel casters. The deck runs past the welder's back, where two 80 cu ft shielding-gas bottles stand in floor cups, each strapped to its own post, right behind the welder.
